Important Shipping Information

All orders containing alcoholic beverages are shipped out from licensed retailers.  Because of the "three-tier" system (producer, wholesaler, retailer) through which most alcoholic products must pass in the United States, distribution and shipping of alcoholic products can be quite complicated. To help try and create an easier buying experience for our customers, we have tried to break down the various categories of delivery here. 

Democrat and Republican Wines are now available in the following states: AZ, AK , CA , CT, DC, CO , FL, HI , ID , IA, IL , IN,  LA , MA, MI, MN , MO , NJ,  NV, NY, NH , NM , ND , OH, OR , TX , WA , WV , WI , and WY.

Delivery generally within 4 – 6 business days to these states:
AK , CA , CO , HI , ID , IL , IA , LA** , MN , MO , NV** , NH** , NM , ND , OR , TX , WA , WV , WI , WY**

 Delivery generally within 30 days to these states:
AZ*, CT, DC, FL, IN, MA*, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH
*) Delivery of alcoholic products not available in all areas of these states
**) not all winery products can be shipped to these states
Please also note that consolidated shipments to DC and NC are currently sent out once per month; consolidated shipments to all other WorldShipNet ("non-reciprocal") states are sent out twice per month.

Reciprocal and Non-Reciprocal States

In "reciprocal" states (states that permit direct shipment of alcoholic products from out-of-state producers or licensed retailers, provided that the necessary permits are filed and the required taxes are paid), delivery is usually accomplished within 3 - 5 business days.

In other states, however, direct interstate shipment is not permitted ("non-reciprocal" states), and product must pass through a licensed wholesaler and retailer before it can be sold--or shipped--to a customer.  These states currently include AZ, CT, DC, FL, IN, MA, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, and TX in some cases.  Because bulk shipments to these states of ThePartyWine's wine shop products are currently sent out only twice a month from California (and once a month only for DC and NC), the delivery time depends on when the order is received in relation to the bulk shipment to the specific state. If the order is received just before the deadline for a bulk shipment, it could arrive as soon as 8 or 9 days after the order is placed. If, however, the order is received just after the deadline for a given shipment, then it will not be sent out until the next bulk shipment (generally 2 - 3 weeks afterwards), so final delivery could take as long as 30 business days. 

The good news is that we are utilizing a unique, legal delivery system that enables you to have these fine wines shipped directly to you in states that prohibit direct shipment from California, where most of these wines are.  The orders are packed and shipped in refrigerated containers to each state, then shipped directly to you from a licensed retailer within your state.  The final courier is usually a national company such as UPS or Fedex.  Because the products are consolidated and need to move through the elaborate "three-tier" system, delivery does take a few weeks, but we think you'll find these wines worth the wait!
